Our Story

OUR APPROACH

Founded on craft. Guided by care.

Seahorse Chocolate was born from a passion for flavor, craft, and connection. With roots in specialty coffee, our team brings a deep background in sourcing, roasting, and sensory analysis, and we apply that same care and precision to chocolate. We’re here to raise the bar for what chocolate can be: complex, intentional, and built on real relationships.

Our approach blends scientific insight with a love for the craft. We believe great chocolate starts at the source, and that working closely with producers, importers, and community partners can help shift the cocoa supply chain toward something more equitable and resilient.

Based in Bend, Oregon, we make small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate from single-origin cacao we know, from farms we trust. Every bar is roasted, cracked, winnowed, and conched in-house, a process that takes days and demands real attention. Our work has been recognized multiple times by the Good Food Awards for quality and ethics in equal measure.

Our goals are simple and guide everything we do:
