Seahorse Chocolate was born from a passion for flavor, craft, and connection, and weβre here to raise the bar for what chocolate can be. Our goals are simple and guide everything we do: 1) to make the best chocolate weβve ever tasted, 2) to help change the cocoa industry for the better, and 3) to be the best partners we can be for producers, customers, and everyone in our community.
And most of all, we want to be part of your everyday chocolate ritual. A small, joyful moment you can count on. Our company is led by a coffee roaster turned scientist who earned her Ph.D. in agroecology studying coffee and cocoa resilience, so our approach blends scientific insight with a deep love for the craft.
We believe great chocolate starts at the source, and that working closely with producers, importers, and community partners can help shift the cocoa supply chain toward something more equitable and resilient.
Our commitment to sustainability is why we were the first licensed Smithsonian Bird Friendly chocolate maker, crafting bars with Bird Friendly certified cocoa from the Dominican Republic. We are also members of 1% For The Planet, and direct our giving to organizations that support conservation, biodiversity, and climate resilience in cocoa farms and landscapes.
